Hosting

Managed hosting your clients actually notice

Backups, patching, monitoring, and plain-language updates — with SLAs that separate what we control in the cloud from what lives in your CMS or custom code.

Pendulum is a UK technical studio. The same senior engineers who design and ship your software run the infrastructure: AWS, TLS, databases, deploy pipelines, and the communication rhythm that keeps trust high after launch.

Tiers

Essential, Professional, Critical

Exact numbers sit in your order form — here is how we think about risk and coverage.

Essential

Stable marketing sites and brochure CMS installs that still deserve proper backups and patching.

  • Platform uptime targets on your primary production URL
  • Daily backups with agreed retention
  • Security-led patching on a defined cadence
  • Quarterly health summary email
  • Clear P1–P4 severity and response targets

Professional

Business-critical sites and APIs where downtime has a cost — faster response and tighter routines.

  • Stronger uptime target and monitoring depth
  • Monthly health summary
  • Staging-led updates where we host staging
  • Higher included support hours for application issues
  • Faster first response on platform incidents

Critical

Revenue, public, or regulated workloads that need the strongest RTO/RPO options and on-call alignment.

  • Tightest RTO/RPO options by agreement
  • Expanded checks (health endpoints, workers where in scope)
  • Monthly summary plus post-incident follow-up for major events
  • Priced to reflect real on-call and engineering coverage

What is included

  • TLS and certificate lifecycle on endpoints we control
  • Infrastructure sizing review at onboarding
  • Backup schedule and restore assistance per your tier
  • Runbooks aligned to WordPress, Drupal, Laravel, Node, and static or decoupled front-ends
  • Honest split between platform SLA and application support (SLE)

What stays out of scope

Clear boundaries prevent disappointment — and keep hosting commercially honest.

  • Unlimited bespoke development disguised as “hosting tickets”
  • Third-party SaaS, DNS registrar, or payment-provider outages outside our control
  • Major CMS major-version migrations unless quoted separately
  • Performance tuning without a scoped engagement — unless covered by your plan
FAQ

Questions procurement teams ask

What is the difference between platform SLA and application support?

We measure platform availability on agreed production URLs and run backups on the schedule in your contract. CMS plugins, themes, custom code, and editor mistakes live in application support — we still help, on clear response clocks and included hours, rather than pretending every PHP warning is “the server”.

How is hosting priced?

We build from vendor costs (compute, storage, licences you need) plus a sustainable management fee for patching, monitoring, backups, and communication. You get predictable renewals without surprise bills — and we stay viable to answer the phone when it matters.

Do you only host sites you build?

No — we often adopt existing stacks. We start with discovery on access, DNS, repos, and risk, then map you to the right tier and stack annex.

Ready for a calmer inbox?

Ask for a tier matrix, stack annex (WordPress, Drupal, UI, or API), and a sample monthly health summary.
