CPL Aromas
Multi-language enterprise CMS website for a global fragrance company - accessible, responsive, and built for independent content teams.
The Challenge
CPL Aromas needed a multi-language CMS website showcasing news, events, services, and company information. Built in partnership with design agency Battenhall, the site needed visual editing capabilities, multiple language management, and the flexibility for the CPL team to manage content independently across their global markets. As a public-facing enterprise site, it also needed an accessible front end - clear structure, keyboard-friendly navigation, and WCAG-oriented patterns - so visitors across markets could use the experience reliably.
Our Approach
- Backend development using Drupal with Pendulum's custom framework, building visual editing with tailored content management tools.
- Multi-language management integrated into the content editing workflow for seamless localisation.
- Frontend development using a custom Drupal theme with SVG animations, responsive templates, and custom form integrations.
- Built accessibility into the public theme - semantic templates, focus-friendly navigation, and WCAG-oriented patterns alongside the brand-led design.
- Partnered with Battenhall to deliver on-brand design implementation for a global enterprise audience.
The Outcome
The CPL Aromas website gave their global management team the tools to operate independently. Content updates across multiple languages are managed through the administration interface, deployed on their infrastructure with full content management autonomy - on a responsive, accessibility-conscious public site that matches the brand.
Key Takeaways
- Enterprise CMS projects succeed when the admin experience is as considered as the public-facing site.
- Multi-language support needs to be built into the editing workflow, not bolted on afterwards.
- Brand-led enterprise sites still need accessibility compliance in the theme delivery - not as a later pass.
