The Challenge

Sportlight's IoT devices capture football player performance during live training sessions, producing large complex datasets. Club managers and professional sports trainers needed to quickly access and compare data across metrics and players — both outdoors on the pitch and indoors. The challenge was making raw IoT device data immediately actionable in a high-pressure sporting environment.

Our Approach

• Carefully designed data structures to handle large datasets, enabling interactive wireframes and refined app architecture through client feedback.
• Built a tailored backend API enabling the frontend to efficiently read custom large datasets in a semantic structure.
• Responsive frontend with graphs, player comparison tools, and live data from IoT devices.
• Live user testing and feedback sessions to validate the product for real-world sports analytics use.

The Outcome

Sportlight has progressed to become a leading sports tech company providing patented, military-grade technology to professional sports organisations. Currently working with the majority of the English Premier League, producing hyper-accurate insights driving data-led decision making. The interface we built set the foundation for their analytics platform.
